From poodle perms to double denim, we look at what was and wasn't acceptable in the '80s
Ah, the '80s - the decade that gave us crimes against style such as poodle perms, high-waisted Levi's and the shell suit. No wonder they call it 'the decade that style forgot.'
But to say that is to neglect the fact that it was also the decade that made an icon out of Princess Diana, and created the awesomeness that was Bananarama.
With the V&A's latest exhibition, Club To Catwalk: London fashion in the 1980s, we've delved into the style archives to uncover just what was acceptable in the '80s - and what definitely was not.
Garish colours? Certainly, but let's not blame just the 80"s. I couldn't purchase any clothes this year for summer--look around--hot pink, electric blue yecky green jeans. What goes around comes around. You're probably wearing it!
Hair? At least it wasn't flat and greasy!!
