I was half way through my first pregnancy and in the middle of a kitchen renovation when I realized I'd morphed into my patience-lacking mother. My poor husband had just arrived home from work and was barely out of his shoes when I pounced, screeching at him for being late, for the lack of progress on our kitchen demolition and for having the audacity to leave a dirty plate in the sink. As the poor bugger attempted to get two words out to plead his case, a light bulb went off. Daughter kettle, meet Momma pot.
