I think Jonathan Hobin did a wonderful job. The young children see all this on the news and weather parents want to believe it or not it has a dramatic effect on your children. I remember wanting to be a princess just like princess Dianna. Then she was killed in that horrible car accident. Well my mom watched every thing to do with her and once I got the idea that the Queen set it up, well that killed my dream of ever wanting to be a princess. I don't think children should have a dream killed like that. Children understand so much more then we give them credit for we should keep them away from the media and the news and let them be kids. The world is depressing, why should it be depressing any sooner.
It goes without saying that the "squirm" factor is high in this photo shoot, and it IS MEANT TO DO THAT. In a world filled with images just like these on national television and the fact that we make ourselved "ok" with it because the media tells us to, it is about time that we got a hard gonad punch into reality.
I'll bet all of you paid attention to the shots right? Suddenly the issues that we have all been facing for the last ten or so years seemed to matter again because there were kids portraying it?
Here's an idea...look past the kids, and what the message is. We stopped giving a **** about anyone else because we're told "it's not close to home, why worry?" or "what can I do?". He is a brilliant photographer with a medium that may not sit well with everyone, but he sure as hell gets the point across!
I think these photos are a good thing, it SHOULD make parents think. Kids are so so so impressionable and I think parents forget that sometimes.
We need to realize what were talking about around them, watching around them and showing them. They know nothing of this world except for what we show them! And such big issues should be delicatley explained to them.
Many children grow up with so much hate bcuz of their parents, when they really may not understand a bigger picture.
Stop freaking out about the artist, stop and actually think about what hes trying to say.
By letting your child look up to ppl like Miley Cyrus you are basically telling them its good to look like the little girls in these photos. The artist realizes its sick and is trying to get the people responsible for children to realize it too.
I really liked the Abu Ghraib picture and The Twins, I can just picture my brother and I playing. It's not like we never electrocuted each other growing up in the name of fun . I remember my cousin and I making tapes of what the ****pit recorder for the Challenger mission would have sounded like, those are my good memories.
The worst was the terrible attempt at trying to include some Canadian content, the GG eating a piece of meat, oh the horror! Jonathan Hobin feeds his kids wieners three times a week. Take a picture of that abomination.
Is there a point somewhere in this exhibit? If news reporting can't tell the difference between non-issue and world issues, neither Jonathan, or your children will.
I believe the truth is stranger than fiction. Why can't children learn the truth, instead of being told lye's.
Please feel free to correct my spelling and grammar, the world likes *ssh*l*s.
Its amazing what we call art now a days.
This is the worst photo shooting I have ever seen. My children have taken better pictures than these
All you people who think these pictures are terrible.. the point of the pictures is to point out what the media exposes your kids to, and that it does affect them in a negative way. considering you cant shelter your kids from the world completely this is very accurate
