Cozy Laundry Room

This room is only a cozy 6-by-10-foot space, but with careful planning, storage was built in for laundry, crafts, sewing, and other projects using simple components found at Lowe's. Savvy space-savers include a (full-size) stacking washer-dryer, hidden ironing board, and a drop-down drying rack. Cabinets on both sides of the room provide storage, as well as counter space. In a room this pretty, laundry feels less like work and more like an escape.

Cabinets
A hutchlike cabinet was fashioned from Shenandoah Cabinetry components. Glass doors lighten up the look of solid wood, and lacy decorative adhesive film conceals contents.

Counters
Long Corian counters, which are nonporous and easy to clean, flank the room. Perfect for utility rooms, they are ideal for folding clothes and making crafts.
